Motorcycle Theory Test Practice
Category A, for mopeds and motorbikes.
The motorcycle theory test runs to the same format as the car one, and a large share of the questions are shared between the two banks. What differs is the framing: the same rule matters differently when you are the vulnerable road user rather than the one being warned about them.
The motorcycle bank has its own topics too, filed under names that reflect riding rather than driving. If you are converting from a car licence, those are the ones to spend time on rather than the material you already know.
The format
50 multiple choice questions in 57 minutes, with 43 correct needed to pass. The hazard perception part is 14 clips scored out of 75, and you need 44. You have to pass both parts.
What it costs to get it wrong
The test costs £23, and you pay it again every time you sit it. More than half of car theory tests end in a fail: DVSA figures for April 2025 to March 2026 put the pass rate at 44.8% across 2,924,430 tests. Compare every theory test fee.
Practise free, no account
A sample of every topic is free. Questions come from the DVSA revision question bank, used under licence, and they are revision questions rather than the ones you will be asked on the day.
