XenAI Limited (company number 16692418), registered in England and Wales, runs Driving Theory Mock Test. This page says what we store about you, why, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. It is written to be read.

The short version

You can use the free tier without an account and without telling us who you are. If you make an account we store your email address and your test history, because that is the product. We never see your card details. We do not sell anything about you to anyone, and there is no advertising on this site.

Your card details

We never receive them. Payments are taken by Stripe, who act as our processor, and your card number is entered on their systems rather than ours. We are told the plan, the amount, whether it succeeded, and a reference. You can read Stripe’s privacy policy.

Analytics and cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to run the site: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers whether you have answered the cookie banner. Those cannot be turned off without breaking the site, and they do not track you anywhere else.

We would like to use Google Analytics to understand which pages help people pass and which do not. It runs only if you accept it on the banner, it is loaded with consent mode so nothing is set before you answer, and declining it costs you no functionality at all. You can change your answer at any time from the link in the footer. The cookie policy lists every cookie by name.

If you link your account to a driving instructor

Instructors can pay for their pupils’ access and follow how their revision is going. Nothing about you is shared with an instructor unless you accept an invitation from them, on a screen that lists what they will see before you agree. Accepting is the consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

While you are linked, your instructor can see:

  • Whether you have been studying, and when you were last active
  • Your mock test scores and how many you have taken
  • Which topics you are strongest and weakest in
  • Your study streak and how many mistakes are still outstanding
  • Your test date, if you have set one

They cannot see:

  • The answers you give to individual questions, as you give them
  • Your password, your email settings or your payment details
  • Anything you do on the site after you leave that instructor

You can leave an instructor at any time from your settings, in one click. Their access to everything above ends at that moment, not at the end of a month. If they were paying for your premium access, that ends with it and you go back to the free tier; anything you bought yourself is unaffected. We keep a record that the link existed and when it ended, because we need it to answer questions about billing and about this policy.

Instructors are told all of this too, before they invite anybody. The lawful basis for sharing it is your consent under Article 6(1)(a), and withdrawing it is the one click above.

Who else sees your data

Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who process it on our instructions and cannot use it for anything else:

  • Vercel, who serve the website
  • Railway, who run the application and the database
  • Cloudflare, who store and deliver the hazard perception video
  • Stripe, who take payments
  • Resend, who send account emails such as a password reset

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We would hand it over if a court ordered us to, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden from doing so.

What you can ask us to do

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can also object to how we use it, and withdraw consent for analytics at any time without losing access to anything.

Email support@drivingtheorymocktest.uk from the address on the account. We answer within 30 days, and deletion is permanent: your history goes with it, and we cannot restore it afterwards. Payment records survive deletion because we are legally required to keep them, and they are separated from your profile.

If you think we have got this wrong

Tell us first, at support@drivingtheorymocktest.uk. If we do not put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not need our permission to do that.

Children

You can sit the theory test from 17, or 16 if you receive the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment, so our users are mostly teenagers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we ask for nothing beyond an email address and what you do on the site.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters we will say so on the site rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
